Who wouldn’t want an employee in their office described as “always ‘wowing’ the customers with their above and beyond customer service standards”? Or, one known for going outside the realm of normal teamwork to assist a teammate in a time of need? This month’s Star is the recipient of these accolades and many more. For that reason, we are pleased to announce Janie Bird, AVP/Loan Assistant in Frankston, has been selected as our August Star of the Month.
Janie spent six years during the seventies in First National Bank of Bullard’s Frankston office working as a Teller, then as secretary to the President. She rejoined the FNB team in 1996 as an Assistant Vice President. When the bank was purchased by Austin Bank in 2004, Janie stayed through the transition working as a Customer Service Representative before making the move to Loan Assistant. “Janie has a special talent of immediately putting customers at ease with their banking needs, problems or concerns. Her favor among the customers can easily be seen in the number of customers and referred customers that seek her out upon entering the Bank,” shares Russ Gideon, SEVP/Chief Lending Officer, Jacksonville. Misty Evans, VP/Retail Market Manager, Frankston adds, “Janie always has a positive attitude and takes pride in everything she does. She is respected by both customers and coworkers because of her willingness to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.”
A long-time resident of Frankston, Janie graduated as Salutatorian from Frankston High School. Attending Trinity Valley Community College and Tyler Junior College, she also holds various professional certificates. A member of First Baptist Church in Frankston, Janie enjoys participating in a number of community organizations. She has lent her time and skills to the Frankston City Cemetery and the Frankston Depot Library Board. Janie and her husband, Mike, have two sons and daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren. Her number one hobby is taking care of those grandchildren – Grant, Grace and Jake.
